Do liberals sue homeowners who put nativity scenes in their front yards?
I put a nativity in my yard every year. I've not had a problem (I'm a liberal). I also have many crosses and a picture of the Last Supper in my home. I have never sued someone, nor have I known another liberal who has.
Any other liberals sued someone over a Christmas display?

I am a Liberal.
I believe you and I have a right to our nativity scenes. We have a right to our Ten Commandments and Last Supper...and any relics we so desire.
But, I believe (as Eccelesiates puts it and the Beatles sang so wonderfully) there is a time and place for everything.

Christianity is just an example of religion. I just used that because that is what I am and that's what the person who inspired this question commented about.
Sheesh. Are you going to make me write my questions in legal form?

No. In fact, anyone is free to put pretty much whatever they want on private property. That's what the Free Exercise clause is all about.
It's just govt buildings that are not allowed to pick a single favorite religion. That's what the Establishment Clause is all about.

A true liberal should support everyone's right to religious freedom. Don't you? Even if there was someone who found nativity scenes offensive, that would not give them a ground for a lawsuit.
You would have to be breaching some local code or ordinance. This is possible in some areas, in which case it would be your local council or homeowners' association taking the action against you. If however the ordinance discriminated on religious grounds it would be unconstitutional.

...People have been sued for having a nativity scene on their own property? Weird. I hadn't heard of it (or maybe I did, and just blocked the stupidity out). People should be able to put whatever they like on their lawns. Although, with some of the horrifically gaudy Christmas decorations/lights displays people put up around here as an excuse for holiday cheer, some of them should be sued for mental anguish caused to the viewers. *shudder*

Let's be clear about this. Many Liberals are very religious and support public religious displays. Ben Franklin is the role model for Liberal freedoms and openly endorsed freedom of religious expression. True Liberals and Conservatives are allies in this issue.
It is LEFTISTS like the ACLU (founded by Communist Party members) who are intolerant of religion. Why? Because it is an obstacle to their absolute control over the minds of the populace when people obey a higher power (like God) instead of their earthly Master (like Hitler, Lenin, Mao, Stalin...)

you can do what you want on your own property.
It is the tax dollars going to support public displays that get people bent out of shape.
btw, it was the byrds and not the beatles that did Turn, Turn, Turn

Just you wait, the ACLU knows about you. They are just too busy right now, but you are on their to do list. If you have crosses, why do you call yourself a lib? That is kind of contradictory.
