I'm 16 and am just gettin into the singing thing cuz I think my voice has finally gotten over the cracking think. But when I try to hit higher nots I crack and after a certan point my voice dies. Singing is in my family (which are all baritone) and they can all hit really high nots. I can't even sing to LA on the Do RE ME scale.

Are you doing warmups? You need to "limber up" your vocal chords- just like stretching before a run.

I'm a songwriter, so I'm only speakin through what works for me. The cracking thing comes with experience. Try a voice teacher. That usually helps get ya thru it. I was pretty bad at 16 too. Frankly, i just started to get really good, and i'm 17 now.

Depending on how old you are, your voice could be changing. It may be that you need voice lessons to control the different ranges and tones. Good luck!

Keep practicing! You voice is not conditioned yet to hit those high notes. Work on your scales everyday! Pretty soon you'll be singin' them in no time.

Good luck and practice! practice! practice!
