Monty Python would always use hyper-speed and get good laughs. If the scene is funny to begin with, slow motion could help ad anticipation of the effect. I guess it depends on the scene.

A scene where someone falls down - definitely funnier in slow motion... but in a scene where someone is having a ridiculously funny verbal disagreement (fight) then hyper speed is hilarious...

Usually if it's in slow-motion, it's supposed to be more dramatic. If it's in hyper-speed, it's supposed to be more humorous.

Depends on the scene... if it is a scene where you are riding on a bullet... definatly slow mo... but if it is football... i like it in fast motion... all those tight butts flying by in record time!
