In a certain southeast asian country, US$1,000 is equivalent to 50,000 (can't tell you the currency). you'll definitely be on a tight budget in the US but you'll live like a king in the country I just told you about.

Peace.

Depends on the city/state. In my area (San Bernardino County of California), rent for an apartment or home in a "less desirable" (unsafe) neighborhood is about $1000/month. - $1300/month.

But there are also rooms available to rent within someone's home that run from $550/month on up.

Food and gasoline (assuming you'll have an automobile) are also more expensive in better neighborhoods. Also, if you do have an automobile, the "required by law" auto insurance is more expensive in unsafe neighborhoods, they charge you according to the postal zip code that you live in. If you want to use the local bus system, it will cost approximately $50/month for an unlimited use, bus pass.

I think you can make it in this area, but your budget would be VERY tight.

Hope that helps :)

not in san francisco... maybe some little hick town somewhere in the midwest. you can buy a trailer for about 30,000, get a loan with a payment of like $300 and live off the other 700 a month. make sure its a small town with everything walking distance so you wont need a car.

Yes, but you will need to find a cheap place to live - or get roomates. If you own a car, don't drive much, the gas will kill you. If you are used to living really right, it can be done. (It also depends on where in the US you want to live - if it's Southern California, good luck!)

you could if you had to. which means budget. write down the cost of everything then add food, entertainment, and add like extra 50-100 dollars for stuff that pops up without knowing

Perhaps if you live in a small town in the middle of the country. Don't use air conditioning or heat and don't get sick.
