I have hormonal migraines and I think I have tried everything within Western medicine. I am interested in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine, but how do I know who is good and who is not? Also, I know it is not covered by my insurance, so how much will it cost?

It is well worth a try. I have had some for a trapped nerve in my neck and I was amazed at the results compared to western medicine. Like you say, you have to be careful about who you go and see . The lady I went to see was from China where the training takes at least 5 years. Here in UK it costs about £30 an hour.

Yes it can cure your hormonal problem, by stabilising your another organs.
I always says to my friend that many things should be remembered before going to see acupuncturist. There are:
1. Never come to him at noon, because your blood flow rate is maximum.
2. Never acupuntured after heavy meals, drinks stimulating drinks likes coffee, alcohols. It will make fast your heart beat.
3. After consuming high blood pressure drug. You should tell him first.
4. Never see him, if has different bone structure. Because that nerves which accomplished will differ in its position.
5. Never taking acupuncture, if assistance take in position.

You should :
1. Find professional one, at least 3 years practise. Because it was recommended to be an assistance for 3 years.
2. you can glance, weather the clinic is full house. It means the doctor is reputable and professional.

Cost??
It depends to which country you live in. As in South east Asia, half hour for 10-25 US$. Not included herbs medicine. But in many country acupuncture is included in health insurance, check it better.

That depends on where you are located.
In Arizona where I live it is easy to get acupuncture.
In New Jersey where I used to live it was illegial.
Try the web for a practitioner in your area.
Search something like Arizona acupuncture
Be sure to check on the practitioners training.
Some people go to school for years and others take a relatively short course.
