Instead of writing c*, it's pretty common for people to write c^2. Both mean "raise c to the power of two" which is equal to "c times c".

So, let's look at your problem: a = 1/2 b c^2
What we want to achieve is something like b= ??? so how do we do that?

Let's start by getting the b to the left hand side. Because the two things are equal we can write:
1/2 b c^2 = a

Now, let's look at the 1/2. Let's multiple both sides of the equation by 2. If we multiply 1/2 by 2 we get 1. That gives us
1 b c^2 = 2a
but we can ignore the one, because anything multiplied by 1 is itself. So we've got
b c^2 = 2a

Now, let's move the "c^2" bit over to the right hand side. To do this we divide both sides by c^2---because anything divided by itself is one. So now we've got
b 1 = 2a / c^2

Again we can ignore the 1, because anything multiplied by 1 is itself. So, finally, we've got:
b = 2a / c^2

I hope that helps.

its either a=1/2bbc
or
a=1/2bc (where the power of two in the second letter is it being multiplied by itself 2 times , given that the numerical values of the other letter are not given a numerical value cannot be given in the answer therefore by rule of simplification the second could be a better answer but im not sure its been a while)
