Unless they have laminate cleaner - I would use plain water on a mop and make sure that it is not too wet. Too much water will warp it and I wouldn't try any cleaner without talking to them first. I use a laminate cleaner only.

I used to have laminate flooring - never again! My cleaning routine was:
sweep the floor with the hoover
then with the dustpan and brush, to pick up all the bits that the hoover missed
Then spray either the Dettol direct floor cleaner (excellent stuff) or Cif on the floor, and mop up with a Vileda mop
Wait for it to dry

It's a lot easier having carpets (as I now do!), and runnign the hoover over everything. Laminate flooring looks good for about two seconds after it's dried off - after that, the cat hairs start spreading, dusty footprints start showing up in the light... nightmare.

Have fun cleaning your friend's floors!

Since you don't know what they usually use, your best solution would be to use a damp rag or mop; just water, nothing else.

Just make sure the rag/mop isn't too wet.

If you want you can dry the place up right after, but if your rag/mop wasn't too damp, it should be ok.

I use Murphy's oil soap and Mr.Clean magic eraser. Mr.Clean works like a magic to clean the black scratch marks. It's amazing...
