Well, if you look at the average, foreign attacks on US soil occur roughly every 6-10 years. Examples: 1975, 1985, 1993, 2001.

That puts the next likely attack somewhere in between 2007 to 2010.

One would like to think that our nation is more secure than it was five years ago. Some would like to take credit for the fact that there haven't been further attacks since 9/11. Unfortunately, success can't really be measured by the absence of an attack, deterrence can't be quantified or even proven.

well... I think it's two fold

A. if you noticed 9-11... I think everyone is more sensitive to terrorists and everyone is watching out much more closely... so when 300 million people are on the lookout... it helps...

B. it does take usually at least 6 years to plan a large attack... .it's been 5 years since 9-11 and we still haven't taken out Osama... those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it...

It was just pure luck, their plan should never have worked. And they didn't have sleeper cells all over the place like we're being lead to believe. That's why we haven't been attacked in five years and to connect the war on terror too the war in Iraq is stupid and a waste of men and money which would be better used hunting down terrorist and not Iraqi insurgents.

I would guess because the government accomplished what they wanted to be allowing the first attack to happen. They have us under control. They used that attack to limit and or take away a lot of our freedoms that we once had

I am sure it is only just a matter of time before they allow a second attack to take place.

Reason could be simple, they are afraid we may just bomb the hell out of their asses. Why sit and take it as we did during the 90s and say oh well. Reagan fixed Omars *** and we never heard a peep out of him again. So I guess Dubya's way is working sorry Libs.

i dont know and i dont care because i dont want it to happen again, and to above "it is an attack on every american soldier that gets hurt or killed" i fully support the soldiers in getting home safe, but dont your forget they chose their future, knowing fully well they may go into the line of fire, that is there job.
