Of course they are, how else can they turn a profit. Its not news unless hundreds die and mayhem rules the day. All we are to them are fickle rubberneckers straining to lap up the blood soaked revelations of imaginative reporters, who live for embellishments and the sight of their name on a front page byline. I look forward to the day i can pick up a paper without all the unnecessary scaremongering.

This is completely true. The news thrives on fear and guides the public through slanted reporting.
Look back at the last few weeks. we have see top stories that include Iraq, Iran, and North Korea, just to name a few. However, none of these stories will stay the main focus for a long period of time. At most, they, or an event from this country, will be a top story for no more than three days, at which point it is worn out and a new story takes the front page. This rotation continues and the media blows a new story out of porportion daily to keep up with the public's hunger for fear.

It also helps the government to pass new laws, by making the threat of terrorism more urgent. If 10 people get killed by a group of militants that is enough to persecute everyone. Although it was probably in everyone's best intrest, the first thing that happened after the recent terrorist threat was that passengers could no longer carry any hand luggage except the bare essentials. This is a major loss of people's rights. When you booked and payed for your airline ticket, you would expect to be able to carry on life as normal.

the only way wherein the media is arbitrary in the direction of Obama is they are giving him a loose holiday, whilst throwing the Clinton and McCain decrease than the bus. The media is afraid to assert a single undesirable ingredient approximately Obama because of the fact they are afraid he will call them "racist." because's what him and his spouse do every time somebody asks them a single question approximately something that they do no longer elect to respond to. it relatively is their way of bailing out instead of being on the instant forward. The media continually throws McCain and Clinton to the wolves and can provide Obama a loose bypass on issues that could desire to have been pronounced. In all the debates, no one has ever asked obama a complicated question. interior the final election (if Obama even makes it that a methods) he will possibly crumple because of the fact he's been slipping interior the path of the cracks for the completed campaign and not possibly asserting something different than empty statements approximately "desire" and "substitute" whilst no longer possibly elaborating. Obama could be a disaster to our u . s . a .. Vote for McCain in case you have a innovations!

In my experience that's vastly more true of Fox News than CNN; what I notice most about bias in BBC reporting is just a persistent anti-Israel, pro-Palestinian bias, although I don't listen to a lot of BBC news.
Sensationalism sells. That's why Bill O'Reilly is a hit.

Whats the alternative? We are all being manipulated to suit someones agenda.
I suppose we could hear what Posh and Becks, Wayne and Colleen and the escapees from the Big Brother House are up to

I believe the B (liar's)B (Broadcasting)C (Corporation) now acts as a propoganda outlet on behalf of a dubious government.
The recent 'bombs on planes' was blown out of all proportion to show what a wonderful job they are doing to protect us forgetting they allowed the terrorist in and to multiply unchecked in the first place.

That is true for all the media. These news stations care about one thing only, their ratings. It is as simple as that. People who are panicking or worried are more likely to stay tuned in order to hear more news on a subject

I am not in a perpetual state of panic. I am not even in a temporary state of panic.
Then again, I am not a pessimist, although compared to the world when I was your age, I SHOULD be panicked.
