no, it isn't. make an appt. with your pcp and see what he/she says. if it's too painful, try ibuprofen for the pain and oh yea, u should request the xray for ur doctor to look at with you when you go to the doctor's office.

Having not seen it, I can say this.
I once got a bone bruise on my leg. The stupid thing hurt for ages. The swelling has never gone down. (3 years ago) I developed a mass and nothing can be done short of surgery.
I hope you don't have a bone bruise, but if so your symptoms make sense.

No, it's not normal and it sounds as though you have a hair-line fracture. These typically won't show up immediately after an injury because of the swelling. You can go and get another x-ray just to confirm. They won't be able to do anything for it, but maybe give you some pain meds.

duuuuude......when I hurt my finger (had a bowling ball get stuck to my finger, and bent it backwards. It turned purple, it bruised and swelled up. But after a few days the swelling went down, and the coloration is still there. Its been 4days for me)!
I would go see your own dr. And get more x-rays. Dont sound normal to me. OH, the er dr. taped up my finger to another finger for my finger. The er dr. told me to put ice on my finger 2 to 3 days at 20min. ata time.

Who did the xray? If it was not done at the hospital, well, then contact you doctor, not the company doc...still, you can bruise the bone without breaking it. Could be a deep bruise. Apply a bit of heat.

It doesn't sound like it is normal. Theoretically, if it is healing, the pain should subside as time goes on until it feels "normal". You should see your own doctor for a 2nd opinion. It is possible to "bruise" internally and therefore not be visible to your eye. Get it checked out again.

just because you can't see a bruise doesn't mean it's not there. i smashed my finger in a car door and fractured it, but never got a bruise. my sister did the same thing and hers was visibly bruised. my advice would be to give it another week and if the pain is still there, get it re-checked

Yes it is normal. Deep bruising sometimes isn't visible. Try RICE ...rest , ice , compression and elevation. If it doesn't get better in a couple of days I would see my MD.
