Don't worry, will not have to reinstall anything
Upgraded my brother from a shuffle to a nano, and he had no trouble, just went and uploaded his music to the nano right after he got it out of the box.

I recommend installing the latest iPod updater before doing anything.
http://www.apple.com/ipod/download/
Plug the Nano into your computer via the USB cable and iTunes will step you through the process of syncing up with the Nano instead of the Shuffle.
I've had a Nano for about a year and love it. A solid protective case will prevent scratches and most other problems.

like the others said about itunes. You don't have to do anything. However, i do reccomend that u dont get the nano i have one and it stops working like every 2 months for about a month i wish i could refund it but apple is really strict with that. My advice is go for a zen or something cus with any ipods ui have to use your itunes only so ui cant u any other site or ur friends songs.

If u get the nano, u might have to update i-tunes. u will get to keep your songs. If u don't trust another one of Apple's products may i suggest a much better player with more space and features for the same price. Go To

no you dont have to reload anything new the only thing it will do is try and update your itunes.. it does it to mine all the time and its really annoying... also when you plug it in to charge it'll automatically upload any new music you've just added to your comp.

no you don't have to. as long as it is an apple ipod product then do not need to.
i suggest to pay a bigger ipod or a regular ipod. but it is cheaper in a long run

If you have a lot of songs that you have on CD's then you don't really have to buy songs. Most of the songs i have on my Mp3 are from CD's my friends buy and i ask them if i can borrow them. I rip the songs from the CD's and put them on my mp3.
