I won't waste space by repeating what others have said; rather I will tell you why I will never again use Microsoft Gaming Zone (www.zone.com)

When Zone first opened, most of the games were "lobby based" (you entered a general room where you could chat with everyone; your game opened in a different, private window) and many people were volunteers to ensure gaming rules/code of conduct were being followed. Again, these were volunteers. Over time the volunteer program grew and grew and so did the Zone.

I became a volunteer (a "Member Plus") back in 2002 and used my priveleges to host cribbage tournaments. Lots of fun, great people, great times.

Back in July of this year, Microsoft decided, against the wishes of thousands upon thousands of people, to close all lobby-based games in Zone and dismiss all their Member Plus Volunteers with little more than a "Thanks--bye". Their reasoning for doing so was to stop having to pay PSI (a contracted maint. company) their million dollar fee each year...because we all know Microsoft is DESPARATELY in the red...

Anyway, the point I'm trying to make is that there are plenty of great gaming sites; I'm a fan of www.pogo.com myself. Just be sure to ask around and make sure that where you game is fun and safe and very respectful. Don't choose to go to a site where the players are governed like prisoners or treated like dirt.

MSN made a huge error in what they did; not so much in their choice to close much of the site, but in how they handled it, and I can name hundreds of friends who feel more than scorned.

*SIGH* This wasn't supposed to be an attack on anybody/website, just informational.

I hope you find many hours of great, happy gaming on some websites!

I have played on a variety of sites. There are many different types of games on the Internet as you know. The most common type of game is the arcade game.

Some popular sites for arcade games are:
pogo.com
games.com
addictinggames.com
shockwave.com
albinoblacksheep.com
and many others that carry the same basic games.

However, if you are looking for card and board games, these are slightly harder to come across.

pogo.com has games such as hearts, spades, checkers, chess as well as several others.

games.com could be the only site I know of that has Monopoly. This site also has classics such as yahtzee, scrabble, battleship, sorry, and boggle.

A site that I just recently discovered is the site, gravon.net. Some of this site may be difficult to understand because it is in German, but most of it is in English. This site has games such as Mahjongg, Stratego, Connect 4, Tic-Tac-Toe, and Bridge.

All the games on these 3 sites are multiplayer. If you are looking for card and board games that aren't multiplayer, the best way to go is to buy the pc versions of these games, or play with a deck of cards and actual boards.

There are many other types of internet games, such as Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. A great site containing a list of these, as well as their respective reviews, is http://www.free-games.com.au/free_online...
This website also lists games of other genres.

If you would like another website that lists a lot of different games, check out bored.com to find not only these lists, but also many other activities to check out when you are bored.
