Particularly lesbians and bisexual women? Does it make look more like a stage? Or drunken fun? Or has it made people more accepting? Thoughts please, and be nice.

I think it's actually a pretty good question. They do show "lesbianism" as something fun for girls to do to get guys' attention, which can't help the real queer women in a male viewer's world. It also doesn't help bi women like me, because it furthers the notions that we just play around with same-sexuality and are sluts. I don't think they promote acceptance.

The more real women come out and are open, the less taboo it'll look. In a few years, college-age boys will probably think of Mrs. and Mrs. Smith-Jones down the street when they think "lesbian," you know? And that's just fine with me.

Anyone with half a brain cell can tell Girls Gone Wild is just silly, loaded college kids being outrageous for a half second of fame.

All in all, I think that anything that helps get America used to same sex relationships is a good thing. Sad to say, but that includes Girls Gone Wild. And, Jayelle and others are right, it's not the best image and in a lot of ways reinforces stereotypes. For the time being; however, I think it may have some desensitizing value.

On another topic... What I really don't care much for is all the "lesbian" porn made by men for men. Geeze, it's so cheesy and come on, how many women (straight, bi, or gay) really wear those outrageous high heels - ever - let alone during sex? :) And, excuse me, but breasts weren't meant to have water balloons stuck in them! Ok, too much of my opinion, I'll stop now.

I think it is a disgrace to humanity to see women present themselves in this way and to see the men and women who exploit and profit from chronicles of these women in a drunken state. . I do not equate this sexual acting out with a particular orientation and do not understand where you equate this with lesbians and bisexual women. These women know that the primary audience will be men. I think it is sad that women subject themselves to this filming while under the influence and many live to regret it as indicated on news programs and documentaries.

Yes, I think it's a bad thing. If I say I'm bi, people assume I get drunk and mess around with other women and would never have a serious relationship with a woman. Or they think I'm just trying to keep up with a fad, that it's a phase I'll get over. And then there are the people that think bisexual = threesome....but I wouldn't blame that on the videos.

I agree with kak and Jayelle. It seems like whenever I tell one of my guy friends that I'm bi they ask me if I want to have a threesome. Those videos do kind of make it seem like most lesbians and bi women can't keep their clothes on, and that same gender sex is just something to do for fun, not as a part of a relationship or lifestyle.

Well considering the videos are aimed at straight men, and the majority of straight men have NO problem with homosexuality as long as it's two "hot" women together, I'd say it has little to no impact.

i don't know if it hurt the community, but the videos are crazy. can you imagine a father flipping through late night tv, catching a girls gone wild commercial, settling in for some hot girl on girl action.. and seeing his young college daughter grinding up against another girl in a hot tub!
