My girlfriends and I were having our usual discussion about boys. One girl said that she read where girls and women are a lot stronger than boys and men. Females live longer. They mature faster. Even grown men sometimes act babyish. The world is a mess because immature men are running it. Dont get me wrong. I love boys and I love my dad and my little brother. I love the guys who are sweet and nice. I even love boys who are silly and immature. My friend Kathy read this so maybe its wrong. What do you yahoo people think?

No, it's not true that men are physically weaker than women. Although there are certainly cases of women that are stronger than the average man, it takes much more work for a woman to reach that point because testosterone causes a male to develop differently than a female. Sorry, that's not me, that's just nature.

As far as mental maturity, it really depends on the person. There's no hard fast rule. Their upbringing and environment has more to do with that than their sex.

Physically, females developer into puberty faster in developed countries...not because of better nutrition, but because of what's in the food. Commercialism calls for lots of meat, and companies use female hormones to cause chickens to grow faster, and cows to produce more milk. If you're in doubt, have some tests run on meat and milk and eggs from the supermarket. Without a doubt, commercial animal products cause females to "mature" faster in highly commercialized countries.

Women, you can be proud that it has been proven that you have more brain cells than men. This doesn't necessaraly give you a higher IQ, but it does make you better at multi-tasking. I'm sure that can come in handy from time to time.

Those are just generalizations, and as you will learn in time, generalizations, more often than no,t are wrong.

Women live longer... well, yes, according to Social Security and other agencies such as health departments... but, I ask, can it be because women stay home moreso than men who are out and can get into accidents or exposed to airborne fumes, gases, chemicals during their lifetime, or must deal with stress or other factors that accelerates their heart rates and raises blood pressure and they worry over the family's financial problems and concerned over the home, their sense of manhood or as providers, society's expectations, paying for utilities, car notes, mortgages, etc? Can it be because of the burdens of stress and tension and the constant traveling back and forth... etc?

The world is a mess because men are ruining it? That sounds like the sexist joke about women not being in car accidents that they cause! That, my young friend, is nothing more than a punchline for an old, old, old joke. Don't believe it things that are said to be "proven" but you can never quite find said "proof" or find a scientific treatise where it is indicated to be a "fact."

Yes, there are some women that lift weights and are stronger than some men, and there are women athletes that can run faster than the average none-athletic man... but those are exceptions that do not prove any rule. Men have testosterone and have larger muscles, "fast-twitch" muscles that are faster (for sprinters) or those that are distance performers have "slow-twitch" muscles and can work anaerobically longer than women... it isn't fair to compare men and women in terms of athletic endeavors when the bodies are not quite the same.

Men and women can compete in intellectual fields but, unfortunately, women have been held back in the academic world by elitist men (fearful of being shown off by women) and the competition field has not been a level one. That's a toss-up and it depends on the individuals themselves and their individual backgrounds.

It sure sounds like the kids bragging, "My dog's bigger than your dog." "And my dog is prettier than your dog." And my dog is hairier than your dog." "Well, my dog is faster than your dog." And so on...

On the question of physical strength ,I think the results from any Olympic games will prove this wrong.
On the question of mental strength , most top chess players are men.
Females do live longer and mature faster but they seem to spend most of their lives trying to reverse this maturity with cosmetics and botox etc.
The men who get to run the world are not the most sensible or ethical examples of their gender, merely the most greedy and ambitious.
When women get to the same position they often act in the same way, Two examples , Margaret Thatcher and Condoleeza Rice.

Dear Becky,

1. Men's muscles are much stronger than women's. We have testosterone, which make us ready-to-explode-bombs. Women have estrogen, which makes them prone to being emotional, not physically strong.

2. Mentally strong? Well, that would be a good debating issue. On one side, you have child birth. Men cannot give birth, so there is NO WAY to compare. On the other hand, men have experienced very traumatic experiences like war, since immemorial times. Women are begginning to serve in other roles... You tell me.

3. Feminist propaganda wants to equal men and women, when our physical and emotional make up is just the right compliment to the other. Thanks to feminism, men are becoming more femenine, and women more masculine. Is that good? I don't know, but I am 40, and I have noticed how that is happenning as time progresses.

Greetings.

Physically, on average, women are weaker than men. This is because mens' muscles are physically stronger than the same size muscle in a female body due to testosterone.

Mentally, the average male brain is slightly heavier than the average female brain.

Emotionally, it's up for debate, although suicide attempts are overwhelmingly a male phenomenon.

Women live longer (at least historically, although it is changing rapidly) because they haven't been in the work force and therefore been subjected to as much stress as men.
