|x + 1| = (3/2)
x + 1 = (3/2) or x + 1 = (-3/2)
x = (1/2) or (-5/2)

2abs (x+1) = 3
abs (x+1) = 3/2
x = 3/2+1; x = 3/2 - 1
x = 5/2; x = 1/2
