yeah or if they are being chased by something and when they hear a noise instead of run they just stand their looking dumb. It's frustrating, I'm always yelling, "Go you idiot!" at the screen but they don't ever listen. And people, if Freddy Kreuger is after you DO NOT go get on a boat and have sex or go running throught the woods. :)

Or.......how about when the girl that's getting chased, whacks the serial killer with a lamp or a vase, knocking him senseless, buying herself some time to escape.........while he's laid out, how is it no one figures out they should either a) finish him off or b)if they don't have it in them to kill, at least break his leg.
Why is it that the victim's car, which is shiny and brand new, and runs like a charm throughout the entire movie, mysteriously will never start when someone's life depends on it?
Or how about the person that never had a cat through an entire movie, yet they always have the cheap scare tactic of the cat making noise in a closet/cupboard, and jumping out at them.

I would never do that. But i think that it just wouldnt be a horror movie is there wasnt some dumb a## running in the wrong direction .
I mean would the monster get then if every one was in their right mind . or if the girl didnt fall? or if the dumb chick didnt go down the basement stairs ?who would the poor monster eat how would he survive ?

I guess they plan on getting killed. A horror movie isn't the same if people don't die in it so you have to have dumb blonde chicks who take their tops off and run up the stairs when the boogie man is chasing them.

If the characters (victims) in horror movies thought logically, they'd be able to just get away. Friday the 13th. - Jason is always shown walking at a normal pace. Not rushed, definately not running. - Someone 50 feet away from him should not be RUNNING in the thick underbrush so that they can fall down and twist their ankle.

If they run out the door they can get away and can't be killed. Then if they all do that the story starts to get boring, so when they run up the stairs their keeping the movie going.

Would you watch if the victim always got away? What would be the point of the movie then? The writers can't give these people TOO much sense! I always end up yelling at the screen myself!

If they were to run right out the front door there would be no movie, would there?!? plus if you are getting chased by someone,I imagine you wouldn't be thinking logically and you would just run!!!!

Oh yeah, I agree. Even in the classics like "Halloween," you got the guy down, now don't sit there and blubber, get the heck out! No need to linger, but they always do...

first they are in a horrible situation so they have no enough space for thinking and reason and secondly may be they believe that upstairs they can protect them themselves by locking thamselves up in their rooms or by having a weapon to defend themselves. i guess if u r at the same situation u will not think reasonably.
