It is, but it's not healthy!

With my first child, I had such rotten "all day long" sickness, that I couldn't gain weight at all, and lost quite a bit of weight. I wore a size 8 in pants up until I was almost 9 months long. I gained some weight at the end, but not much at all. I think it was less than 10 pounds, which I lost when she was born.

If you can't keep anything down, you should talk to your doctor about what can be done. Up your intake of healthy fluids, and try something like fruit, which isn't processed, and is a bit lighter in the belly.

If it becomes a big problem, there are medications that can be perscribed to lessen the effects of morning sickness, but most doctors only perscribe them in extreme cases.

I am currently six months pregnant and have not gained any weight yet, I have actually lost like 3 pounds. I have been eating and doing everything right but I can't gain any weight. The doctor said if I don't gain some by my next appointment that we will have to do something about it. However my last pregnancy I only gained 12 pounds and the doctor said that was fine, I lost it right after my baby was born.

If you are very overweight it is possible to lose weight throughout pregnancy. I have had women as patients who have radically changed their diet when they became pregnant due to high blood pressure or diabetes and just dropped the weight like mad when they were pregnant. One actually was thinner when she delivered than she was when she got pregnant! Others only gained 5-15 lbs and delivered healthy normal sized babies.

However, if you are a normal size, you need to gain some weight, the baby, placenta and amniotic fluid alone weigh over 10 lbs.

In the beginning you may lose weight because of morning sickness, but you should actually gain weight during most of your pregnancy.

If you are losing weight, your doctor will put you on a specific diet to gain wieght. You are expected to put on weight, its the baby forming, and all the nutrients it needs to grow in the womb.

it's not good to lose weight. certainly exercise but NEVER to the point of exhaustion. if you maintain a healthy weight and your baby continues to get all the nutrients s/he needs, then I see nothing wrong with you keeping an exercise routine that will allow you to stay "tight." good luck with this and hope you stay healthy
