the indian befirends the little girl and the other girls at the orphange, he has a monkey, but the indian does not know that the man he is looking after is the father of the little girl..the lady who runs the orphange is very mean and when she thinks the father is dead she makes the little girl do all the cleaning and help with the chores.

it's Sarah, the little princess, or jst the adaptation of the movie...years back, it's a teleseries here in our country and many children and even some adults were watching that! i never know that it's a movie, but this series or (jst an adaptation of that movie) was a hit here! everyday children will wait for the series to be showed, (hey, i was a child back then) and we would see ourselves crying with pity over sarah! such a great story....you would wish for every child to know that story!

There's two version of that movie, "The little princess' with Shirley Temple and the more recent one, but I forgot who's in it. Lushly done, too.

wow, ur really going back. shirley temple, in 'little princess' i think thats the name. but no doubt, a shirley temple movie. if u liked this 1 of shirley s check out;' heidi', another great 1. most of them r. 'the little colonel', also very good. o well, enjoy.

The Little Princess. But it was a boarding school, not an orphanage. Her dad sent her there, and then when everyone thought he was dead, she became a servant at the school.
