Nice Question.... About 2 Christmas' ago my sister and I gathered alot of our clothes (mostly sweaters & anything warm cause the weather is freezing in our town) that we hardly used and wrapped them up with Christmas wrapping paper... We went around our town handing them out to any and all the homeless people we seen that Christmas day!!!! I felt great to give and what we got in return was priceless!!!! My heart smiled that December day!!!!!! :-)

I bought a sandwich from a deli shop and saw a homeless man pushing a cart nearby. I felt bad and offered him the sandwich. He was so happy and told me that I had a heart and God would save me. I also donate money to charities and clothes and items to charities when I no longer want them or use them. It is fun to help people!! :) Oh, there was this other time that it was raining and a lady asked me for a ride. I gave her a ride to several locations until she decided where she wanted to go, so basically I was her taxi driver and that made me mad because she took advantage of me for two hours. I would not have been mad if I wasn't low on gas and just took her to one place rather than have spent my day taking her to do her errands. Finally, I told her that I was going to only take her to one more place because I did not have enough money for gas and she got mad at me. Sometimes, helping people can be a bad thing as well if they take advantage of you, so, be careful!

One day I was looking out my window and noticed this nerdy boy walking down the sidewalk with a huge backpack of schoolbooks on his back who was being taunted and pelted with rocks from 4 older looking boys. I left my house, shouted at them, then chased them for blocks. I also changed a tire for a lady when it was about 10 below zero and nearly turned into an ice sickle, gave a man a ride to an elderly man who was broke down on the interstate (before cell phones), and tried to put out my neighbors house fire with a garden hose with 20 people yelling at me to get away. All true stories though none may be too spectacular.
Remember: Make this a good day.

Helping a convent in Naples Italy with building repairs after an earthquake (early 1990's) had damaged their buildings. I knew nothing of them before the earthquake but found it very enrichening to help them. Something about helping nuns that just make you go above the norm. We spent lots of time there over a couple months. It was nice to help someone that was used to helping others. Actually kind of humbling.

Truthfully, there have been so many I cannot count them up. My wife however, always refers to the time we were in Chicago and there was this lady, holding her child at the bus stop. It was about midnight, snowing, wind blowing like crazy, very cold and she asked us for a dollar or tw so she could take the bus to a shelter. Her husband had just beat her up and she left with nothing but a coat and her child. I emptied my pockets to her. I had about $250 in cash on me and I gave it to her without even thinking. My wife thinks about that and she cries every time, but truthfully, I have done things like that more times than I can count, which explains why I'm always broke, but I think it also explains why money always finds its way back into my pockets.

i was at Wal-mart and this homeless guy had a sign that said "dont want work, just need money for booze" so i went to the liquor store and bought him a 40 oz. I figured, hell, hes the most honest homeless person Ive ever seen with a sign like that, so i made his day with some beer!

I let several people in front of me in a parking lot traffic jam. Does that count? Oh yeah, I gave a guy on the street a cigarette, and talked to him and his dog "lucky" for several minutes. Mostly I think taking care of myself, so no one else has to, has been very beneficial to many strangers!

I can't think of the greatest, but I can give you one:
I was walking downtown and this girl was crying on the corner. I walked up to her and just gave her a hug. She was very grateful. I didn't let go until she stopped crying. She thanked me. When I left, she was smiling. It was great :)

I am 31 w female and one day I was in the grocery line and a little old black lady didn't have enough to pay for groceries and started to put milk and bread etcc back and I paid it for her. She was shocked as well as the cashier. I used some of my b-day money to pay for it. I would of liked if someone had done that for my grandmother.

hi there....i like your question. I had watched an Oprah show on random acts of kindness and decided to pay for someone's meal, without them knowing. It happened to be an older gentleman eating by himself around Christmas time. I was with my then girlfriend.
