No, it's only 1/4 the size of our moon and it's on a weird orbit where is actually switches with Neptune as the furthest planet from the sun. Between the years 1979-1999 Neptune was the furthest planet from the sun. Some people want it to remain a planet because that was what they were taught growing up. Pluto was a memorable planet because of its name, size, and how teachers always said it was the most distant planet.

well, pluto has accidentally been added in the list of planets. and i think, they really don't have a specific definitation cut out for what a planet is. it's imp for us to define first what's a planet. i think it should be something which has a substantial effect on the solar system as a whole. if the planet is too small to have an effect, then probably, it shouldn't be considered a planet. for me, it personally doesn't matter one way or the other. Saturn, Mars and Jupiter might be effecting my life right now, but i think pluto is too small to....

If you are talking about Disney's Pluto, no let him stay a cute crazy dog. But if you are talking about the 9th planet, please let it stay there.
It has been one for so many years, why change it now. I grew up with it and so have my daughters. We are teaching my grands that it is.
If they changed it now and said Pluto was not a planet, we couldn't say the poem any more to remember them in order.

NASA is launching a mission to Pluto. They will have answers in July 2015. Until then, I think it should be called a planet.

its been a planet for so many years..but they have been arguing it too for so long and they have a point that if they allowed pluto to be a planet there would probably be thousands of "planets" out there so i guess to keep track of them easier then no its not a planet

Say-ing that it is not a planet , has not bumped it out of the sky . It is like say-ing your house is derelict , unhealthy and un-safe and then health officials come and bull-doze it down .Pluto has not been shot out of the sky ; it is still there . People can talk all they want , but PLUTO is still orbiting in our solar system .

I believe it should be! I am shocked they made such a ruling! I would LOVE to know what astrologers think of all this! I think it's wrong not only from that standpoint, but all the history books and what kids are learning today! From the answers I have been
seeing so far.... everyone has good points! I say leave it as it is!
