I am manging a windows network using Windows Server 2003, recently i found some users using Limewire or Bearshare, my question is how to disable these programs from accessing the internet, i want to disable this from windows 2003 server (eg. not from their computers), in details please.

details please, i did not figure how to disable this yet, can u tell me the ports of limewire or bearshare as they seem to connect through "UPnp", also where shall i go and block these ports

I would suggest installing the ISA server portion of SBS and using ISA to filter out websites you don't want people to visit.

Check which ports they are using to access the Gnutella network and block those ports. FYI, Bearshare is a spyware farm. They used to allow you to uninstall the included crap but you can no longer do that. If you have the latest version of bearshare, you are infected.

i have no idea but limewire sucks i just got rid of mine it was way to slow so i have bear share

look in whatever firewall you are set up with...allow / disallow programs in program control ???
