x=(price sold for - price purchased)/profit per shirt

x =(5500-3500)/50

X=(2000/50)

x=40 shirts

110 shirts 50(110)=5500-3500=2000 dollar profit

It would be nice to know how much the shirts costs first. then you will be able to know how many shirts there are, and probably easier to make into an equasion! good luck!

2000[profit total]/50[profit per item] equals 40 shirts.
for the euqation part, that will be a little more tough I'll get back to you on that one.
