I have heard that the sex of a foetus can be changed with some medicine taken by the mother in the initial months on pregnancy.I have seen many pregnent women taking medicine to ensure that they deliver male child. And most of the times they do deliver a male child. Is it mere coincidence or is it medically possible?

No. The sex of the baby is chosen at birth. It all depends on what sex the sperm is that fertilizes the egg. It is all based on X and Y chromosomes. Medication has nothing to do with it. Although, there is research being done where parents can choose the sex of the child by hand choosing a specific sperm of a specific sex and having it fertilize the egg and then be implanted into the mother. I hope this helped.

That's a tricky one and a simple one. As for changing a child's sex during development, there is no medication used to do it. There has been a fertility drug that had similar effects. All it did though was cause male children to be born transsexuals. Messing with a child's sex during development would take adding hormones and hormone blockers to the woman's system. It would be very dangerous to the child's health, would have unpredictable results beyond almost certainly guaranteeing that the child would be born transsexual or intersexed, and would be extremely unethical. There is a procedure that can be done before artificial insemination that can help with guaranteeing that a child is born a certain gender.

No, the baby's sex is determined at the moment the egg is fertilized by the sperm. There are two types of sperm -- X and Y sperm. If an X sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby will be a girl. If a Y sperm fertilizes the egg, the baby will be a boy.

This is a well-known basic fact of biology -- if anyone is selling "medicine" to guarantee a baby's gender after conception, that is an outright scam. (For that matter, there is no drug you can take before conception either to choose a baby's gender.)

Once an egg is fertilized the sex is decided. The chromosomes are in place and doing their stuff.

Can't change it. Possibly between sex and fertilization there may be some actions a woman can take that would affect the sex of the embryo. But that would be pre-conception.

Please dont mess around with nature for God forbids, lest that youre prepared to be parent of a probable monster
Dont fret if it's boy or girl, just ask whether it's a normal healthy baby with complete sets of fingers toes, limbs, a pair of eyes, ears, nose, mouth, well formed head.
Ponder this: I complained I had no shoes until I saw others who had no feet

The sex of the baby is already predetermined when egg and sperm meet.

there is no such medication HOWEVER they do have a process where they spin the sperm very quickly and it seperated the male from female sperm - male sperm is heavier and artificially inciminate with the selected sperm
