The American economy is, and always has been, controlled by (1) the Federal Reserve Board and (2) "Wall Street", with many of the same people going back and forth from one to the other as control of the White House changes.

While there have been some notable Jewish names (not all of whom have been practicing Jews) in Government and many in Wall Street, the fact is that Wall Street is and always has been dominated by White Anglo-Saxon Protestants.

Yet the myth of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion lives on.

Nobody has given an adequate explanation of why, given that persons with Jewish names represent 1/2 of 1% of the population of the USA, they represent more than that -- perhaps 5% or even more -- of the senior professionals and equity owners in Wall Street.

But the answer has to be simiilar to that regarding Chinese and Koreans, who are similarly over-represented in the professions: excluded from industry to a great extent, they went into the professions and trade and finance, and could do this because they have a tradition of education.

In any case, the rise of mutual funds, hedge funds and pension funds in recent decades has changed things. These large accumulations of money do not have Jewish names at their head. And even the big banking houses founded by Jews are today public companies, owned by millions of small investors and the aforesaid pension, hedge and mutual funds and controlled by nobody except anonymous boards of directors, Christians and Catholics nearly all of their members.

Which brings up another point: the only thing that makes Jews and Israel the focus of so much attention in the USA is that 50 million evangelical Protestants (including the current President of the USA) look to them as essential to their vision of the return of Jesus at the end times, and the Rapture.

The way you pose that question seems to insinuate something sinister about the role of Jews in our Economy as if they were some kind of demonic force with evil powers or intent. Jews do not "control" the American economy though they play an important part in it and are usually very successful. They tend to be more successful than others every where they go and in most branches they participate in. There are only 13 or 14 million Jews in the World, yet Between 1901 and 2005, some 750+ Nobel Prizes have been won. Of these, at least 160 were won by Jews. The are some dumb Jews, there are some poor Jews, there are some lazy Jews but for some reason it seems that proportionally they have less of those that the rest of us. Maybe,,just maybe they are just a little better than the average human. Maybe that is why they are so hated, kind of like the most beautiful women are hated by ugly women.
