What kind of questions should I expect INS to ask my husband and I?

I had applied for citizenship for him a few years ago,They made an appointment with us to bring all our documents to them, What kind of questions will they ask us? Is this kind of like a relationship interview? I feel nervous because what if I don't remember something stupid , like the brand of his deodorant?

It does not sound like anyone else here has actually gone through the proces, otherwise they would have said so, right? Well I did and it is a total breeze. They don't interview everone, it is "random". It is all in the paper work. YOU MOST LIKELY WON"T HAVE A SECOND INTERVIEW ANYWAY. The "real evidence of marriage", documents that show you guys share a personal, social, financial life together. We submitted a shoe box sized stack of evidence and did not have a three year interview. You already had your first year interview I assume as you said you started years ago.
We had a short interview the first year and no interview the third year. Just had to submit all of our evidence. It is not like the others said with the seperate rooms and minute details. I think they are watcing too much TV. We did not have to give ANY tiny details like that. We are obviously a real couple and have nothing to hide. They asked us how we met and just a few basic questions. I did not go into great length with any answers.There were two people in the room, one interviewer and one "trainee" observing the interview. It was very informal and fast, no interrogation AT ALL. So, if you have already been through the first one, the second one is the same. The guy even told us, "after two more years you might get an interview just like this one". They were polite and they are not super human lie detectors or special agent super spys. LOL The proof they want is in the paper evidence not the interview. My husband was pretty nervous and stammered through the whole thing and they did not care.

They will ask you all sorts of things. More so now, than they did before because of America's new homeland security. Some of it relationship related, but most of it having to do with your personal background, how you came to America, when you got here, etc. Stop driving yourself nuts. They are also trained to recognize someone faking it....if it's a real relationship, they'll see that. It's not a pass/fail test honey. Just be yourself.

Its like a psychological testing on you.. They will ask questions about your relationship like when was your wedding date, time, location? how long before your wedding did the two of you date? Stuff like that.. its mostly about the two of you. Its because they are checking to see if you two are really a couple and NOT just like those fix marriage thing.

I do not know the brand of deodorant my husband of 28 years uses.I dare say ,he does not know mine!!Don't sweat the small stuff,and good luck.It will be easy...Just think of how many have gone before you and passed...not nothing to worry at all...

I hope he paid you alot for marrying him...they will ask you all kinds of personal stuff about each other and you better know it.....you will go in seperate rooms....and each one of you will be asked questions and you better answer them right..if not then you are BUSTED!!!!!!!!!!
