Three Strong Reasons Could Be:-
1.You Could Pretend That You Forgot...It Actually Slipped Out Of Ur Mind Bt For That Dear You Need To See That Ur Friends Do Not Talk About This Topic n Neither Do You
2.You Could Say That Theres Some Money Problem In Ur Family So Right Now You Arent In Position To Take Them Out.....Hopefully If They Are Your Friends They Will Understand
3.You Could Say That Ur Parents Are Not Allowing You......You Have Been Punished Or Something Like That

Okay more info would help; who are they and where do they want you to take them? why do you not want to?
I'm assuming you've given them rides before or else they wouldn't ask. Gas is $3 a gallon and they never chip in? Perhaps they are going to a person's house you don't get along with? Are they asking you to be out too late? too early? In a bad part of town? Maybe you promised to help someone else at the same time?
Sorry, hope this helps.

How about you tell them that you were having trouble with either your plumbing, cable tv, telephone, or some other similar home related issue and you called a repairman and they said that they will send someone over between the hours of 9 AM and 6 PM (this is not uncommon) and you have to be there when they come to fix the problem.

Why don't you want to take them? Did you promise them, or did they just talk you into promising them.
If you made a promise you should keep your promise.
If they are coming over unexpectedly, leave to go shopping or someplace before they come over....just don't be at home...later when you see them you can just say "I' forgot"
You have to realize though when you do a favor for someone, anyone, then when you need a favor it will come back to you (not always from the same person).
If they can't find a ride, you can tell them to call a taxi, or have their relatives take them wherever they want to go.

Wow ok i recognize this isn't the answer you're searching for yet your guy sounds slightly loopy. in case you won't be able to even bypass out with your associates devoid of consulting strangers on the internet for an excellent lie then perhaps your not in the ideal relationship. If my guy ever advised me i could not bypass out with the girls i ought to chortle in his face! tell your guy you're going out and he needs to hit upon how you may manage the very incontrovertible reality that your a social creature. you want to get exhilaration from your existence that's the in simple terms one you've were given. you ought to love this guy notwithstanding it sensible would not look like he respects you. good success w/ that...

Tell whoever it is that you promised that you'd do somebody else a favor, and that they asked for the favor before they did, and you forgot that you already had to do something for the other person.

I always go with "I'm sorry but I already made plans with someone else"....that way, they think you're not trying to avoid them but honoring a prior engagement.
You have to have a hectic social life to pull it off in the first place . Not as effective when they know you stay home a lot.
Works for me though.
