Idli with chutney AND Sambar( thick Dal gravy) is the most popular combination. You can also have ' Idly podi '( mix of chilly..some other items..) along with above two.
Finally if you are Non - Vegetarian,I would recommend-- Idly with Mutton gravy plus coconut thick chutney ( ' Ketti Chutney ' in Tamil ).To be eaten on Banana leave in hot steaming condition....

Idli and Sambar are Mr. and Mrs.
Chutney is brother of Idli.
Chilly powder (commonly known as Idli podi) is sister of Sambar.
What do u like..?

have u ever tried with Idly with chilly powder, sugar and ghee? Idly with curd and sugar will also be good. However, they cant beat, making Idly as uppuma with Sambar.
