i downloaded the program and on their site, it says that u cant use their program for any illegal purposes, but i've heard ppl saying that any file sharing activities r illegal, so i havent used the program yet, so is it ok for me to use limewire, i just want to get songs and i really need professional advice. thank u!

Depends on what you are sharing/downloading. If it is copywritten material: Yes. Freeware or your own material, No. That is where P2P software has a loophole because it is up to the user to decide how they want to use their software.

I have heard some people say it is illegal and other people say it is only if you copy and sell songs to other people. I have used it for awhile now. I guess if it is illegal and I get caught I will just pay up but there are so many users on there your chances aren't very high.

Downloading copyrighted material is illegal...but just so you know, just about every song on limewire is copyrighted.

in this case the site is paid for so you don't get trapped into using it. while it also says u are using the basic limewire for free thats all u r doing
