My question is is it going to hurt when these are removed ?? I am in a lot of pain now as it is, & I know it wont hurt as bad as this, but I want to be prepared when they do come off.. sounds like they used steri strips to cover your incisions..these are strips that are 1 inch in length and 1 inch in width ( kind of look like little pieces of scotch tape)

these are actually designed to dry up and fall off themselves, but sometimes the nurse will remove them-they don't hurt-just tug a little sometimes...

if they are actual stitches-they also are painless-it's like pulling shoelaces out of your shoes-they are cut on one end and just slide out-you might feel a little bit of pressure but no pain....

it's normal to have anxiety over anything being done to you-especially if you're in the hospital.

good luck with your recovery

It won't hurt. It's like removing a band aid.
When someone else removes the tape, it won't be as bad.
I had staples removed after I had a C-section & it didn't hurt.
Where you have an incision, the nerves are numb because they have been traumatized.

I had the exact same surgery three years ago. Nothing to getting the stitches out ... just a little tug and it's done. Nothing to worry about.

No.
The most pain you will have is thinking about it and the fear that you are building up in your mind.
Relax - it's more painful carrying the groceries.

ps: Good Luck with your recovery

Should't hurt that bad, as long as you soak them before you go in to get them removed. Get some cotton balls soaked with peroxide, and keep them there to soften any scabs you may have. Shouldn't hurt.

I hate to be rude - but it is TAPE - like a bandaid.
I don't think the pain will cause you to black out or anything.

nope. It's just tape that will usually dry out and start to come off on their own sometimes.(especially if you get them wet)
