Who was your own seminal jazz band...?

Mine was Spyro Gyra. I play saxaphone because of Jay Beckenstein.

Art Blakey. I play drums because of so many drummers!!!

P.S. I also play because of so many great Sax, Piano, Trumpet, guitar....players need a drummer. lol

Seminal jazz band? I don't understand that part. But the jazz people who influenced me the most on guitar (my instrument) were John McLaughlin, Al Dimeola, Django Reinhart, and Larry Carlton. I am also a big fan of John Coltrane and Charlie Parker.
