Why do Asians, Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis etc. consider women a lesser species?

Of course most will tell you that they respect their wives, daughters and sisters and therefore must protect them. What I see are women who are cowered and fearful of the communities in which they live, do not partcipate and in some strange way consider themselves superior to women of the west.

I've wondered that myself. I think it's a cultural norm, plus related to their religious views. I'm mighty glad I was born down under, with the opportunity to think for myself, get an education, career and not rely on men to get me anywhere, just to have them for enjoyment!

In India women can be a Prime minister and nobody minds. Even Muslim countries Pakistan and Bangladesh in Indian sub continent have had Female PMs. Sri Lanka has had female PMs and President

Females were Rishi and participated in writing Vedas(Gargi, Matryee, etc). There have been really power full Queens and not only ruled but took active part in wars ( Rajiya Sulta, Lakshmi Bai, Chenamma...). Rajiya Sultan was declared the heir by her Father , though they were Muslim and extremists opposed her getting throne of Delhi. But she proved to be a worthy general.

Women in power do not scare men here. Its a land of mother Goddess worshippers (Durga, Kali, Sarswati, Lakshmi...).

Unlike West , they did not have to fight that much for their rights In India. Neither for inheritence, or voting or others.

But still men are men and whoever wins in power game rules. In some cases it may be women in other men (all over the globe I )

US has highest rate of rapes , and domestic violence.

And many in your country support the idiots n bigots like the following ones-

Culturewise Abrahmic religion culture has been most oppressive to women. Pat Robertson quotes from Judio-ChristianTradition on this one.

Chauvinists and Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson can be found in any country, So stop generalising.

PS: BTW, Do you know the difference between Saudi Arabia and India or Pakistan or Bangladesh? Because women are certainly much more active in sub continent , but you do not seem to know an iota about the region. Come on , they even fly fighter Air planes in India. They are in administration, in parliament and world's first Female PM and First Female President, both belong to Asia(Sri Lanka).

Indian women have some instinctive and interesting qualities.The way they feel shy,smile,speak etc;-all excellent.One has to see it to believe it.Basically they are very soft spoken,well mannered,hygienic.One can write a book of more than 1000 pages to describe their mannerisms.Their loyalty and simplicity are beyond explanation.We don't treat them a lesser species but only consider them a weaker section.Basically men are ready to help women in every walk of life.To substantiate this one example I furnish here,
A woman boarded a bus and requested the conductor to guide her where to get down for her destination.Her destination came there were 10 passengers anxiously waiting and they all shouted at her to get down.Then conductor commented " if the passenger were a woman then there were 11 conductors,if male only i have to shout".

There may be an element of truth in what you say... however I have yet to see another country or culture who treat their women better.

The women in the West are no better off - stuck between their so called freedoms and work and a soceity in which women are treated as sex objects. No wonder the divorce rates are so high in the West - not to mention the rape and sexual crimes.

If you find a country that treats their women any better - let me know about it.

I regret that you have included Bangladesh , which is not true at all. To be more precise you dont have much information about this country. For all, Bangladesh is a women dominated country, Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition are women.

They are not at all fearful of the communities, education and women empowement is one of the fastest in the world. Employment rate of women is also quite satisfactory.

Not all Asians, Pakistanis, Indians, etc. are as you think they are, remember that Chinese and indians are 1/3 of the total population, and these populations are far more diverse than what we think in western countries, what you espress is nothing but a stereotype about this countries, my suggestion is to get closer to these cultures.
Besides the objetualization of western women should be also of great concern.

In all of the movies they show, especially in Indian movies, they show women obeying there husband, sitting on the floor when there husband sits on the chair, do whatever they tell them to do.
So part of the influence comes from movies.
