i live in the usa and do not want a pay as you go phone .

you can buy the pay-as-you-go phone from like best buy or sam's club, and whenever you use it they'll bill to your house.

I'm NOT a frequent cell user so I use a Cingular PayAsYouGo plan that's $0.25/min and a $25 prepaid card has 90 day expiration for the usage so 1 years worth of occasional cell and text messaging use cost me $100 per year which is MUCH less than the $39/month plans that most carriers offer! :-)

I know sprint will take people with bad credit pending a deposit. Also a good way to build credit.
