two mothers?

Kids need their mothers. Period. Not an "alternate" mother, but THEIR mother. If that means you earn a little less and go without the things you "want" then so be it. As long as that one income is able to provide the things you "need" than that's really what's best for the kids. A lot of times people have kids for selfish reasons. It's about give and take, not take and take. If you've got to give up a few material things for a little while, then that's a sacrifice worth making in trade for happy, healthy children. Enjoy them while you can ... don't live regretting later in your life that you didn't spend enough time with your children. If you choose to have children, then you should choose to raise them yourself if at all possible. Too many people these days have kids and are able to stay home, but choose not to because it's a very hard job. I will tell you that yes, it's a hard job, but it's definitely worth it!

I have a similar issue, the money I earn in 4 days takes my husband 2 weeks to make. I hate leaving the baby with a sitter he's picking up all the other kids habits and it drives me crazy. But my husband wont leave his job. Id prefer slightly less income and have the peace of mind knowing my son is home with daddy learning our habits

depends what dads earning? and if its cheaper for mum to stay home then go to work and pay it all out in childcare (Im a working mum, but last years child care bill was just under $16,000 for one child)...and theres also advantages to mum staying at home raising the children, its good for the kids (id stay home if i could afford to) and she can then run a stable houshold instead of working a 60 hour week then running around outside work hours trying to run a house as well........so both have an advantage and disdvantage

Its not about the numbers it is about making sure your family is taken care of ( there is more to it than just money).
