Before you all tell me to do my homework, I did thanks but i need at least 100 words. But it seems i need to add more to it. So Here is the question and my answer will follow:

Is it more common for people to make decisions regarding religion on the basis of reason or by faith? Explain your answer

My answer:
I believe people are going to make their decision on religion on the way they were brought up. I don’t believe they are going to change because of reason. They might 'claim' its faith but most of them, deep down, believe this or that because of parents or the fact that they've always gone there.

I think you have a good start but you also might want to think about the people that chose by reason and end up in a cult. Some People chose religion to fill the empy space in their life. Sometimes standard religion seems too easy for them and it becomes in fact harder. They actually need more rules.
Example: Standard religion says forgive you enemys and love each other as I have loved you. Treat people the way you want to be treated and obey the commandments.
simple right?
Some don't understand the salvation through grace and they feel that salvation will only come through work. That is why the cult can move into the life of the wayward soul and steer them wrong. They fill the gap with work for the soul and a promise of salvation.

I am probably rambling. I hope this gives a point to bring up.

You have a good beginning. Now just add more to it. Can you give an example to illustrate your point of view? It is alright to state an example from your own life experience, or that of someone who is close to you. I think you just need to keep on going. You are almost done.

I hope this helps.

Definitely by faith, which usually comes from the way you are raised or by some life-altering experience.

you ask for what age?
for a child, religion may sound like candy, if it is fun, they trust it,

for some teenager, they may have their religion for social contact and similarity in their personality.
after grown up a bit, they may convert to be married .
ect ect.

Never use the phrase "this or that" in an answer.
