Do you think that the PS3 will be doomed? Im starting to think that the PS3 will die young because of its price :/ 500-600 for the system and 50-60$ for games is a lot.

The Nintendo Wii looks pretty cool, too- as it's competition, and it will be considerably cheaper, according to Wikipedia.

No i don't think that the PS3 is doomed at all. Sony is well aware that the system cost a lot, but they also know that it is the best system that they could put out. The two cell processors that run the PS3 and the blue-ray disk drive would cost you 1000.00 bucks just by themselves, so paying 599.00 for it is not that bad, plus it does so much more then play games, it will be the center-piece of your multi- media center. Now the price will drive some people into the arms of other systems like the Wii and 360, but they both don't compare in quality and options to the PS3. If the PS3 was 299.00 then there would be no discussion on who is going to be on top of the mountain when it is all said and done. The only reason people knock the PS3 is because they can't either get mom and dad to pony up that kind of money for a game system or they can't afford it themselves.

The PS3 is going to be way overpriced. I can't think of any gamer that I talk to that is even considering buying one because it is just too expensive.
The Xbox360 is doing fairly ok for Xbox fans... and the Wii looks like it will appeal to alot of gamers, especually those interested in retro gaming and simpler kids games.

To give you the truth, PS3 will not fail; or, at least, that we know of. Sony fans will not allow its failure. They will buy it all costs, no matter how much the games cost. There are that many die hard Sony fans, so PS3 certainly will not fail; whether or not its completely succesful and beats the Xbo360....well...that depends on how many die hard Sony fans there are.
