Let x equal the movie star's age and y equal the daughters age.

Then:
1.) x - 7 = 11*(y - 7)
2.) x = 4*y

Substitute (4*y) for x in 1:
(4*y) - 7 = 11*(y - 7)

Solve for y:
-7 = 11*y - 4*y - 77
70 = 7*y
y = 10

Use 2 to slove for x:
x = 4*y
x = 4*10
x = 40

Alternatively you could plug in y=(x/4) into the above equation and solve directly for x.
