Here is the Gateway M275 (Tablet PC)

(This is an Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) Link/File)

The MacBook Pro:

(Sorry I wish it were a bit more organized and straight to the point like the Gateway's configuration)

I'm buying them at the same price from my retailer, so money is not a problem.

Thanks a lot for your time and effort!
Much appreciated!

Gateway is the better of the two...but you really should consider a Dell instead...

1. If its for work, see what brand and type your work is using. Make sure if you go this way, your laptops has your name labeled on it. Even a different color or graffite stickers on it.
Some office supply stores have, gripping stickers for laptops; used to hold the laptop.
2. What do you want to use it for? Some computer makers cater to a specific market, and faster at some applications but work with the same software.
3. Get the list of features, compare it side by side. Actually check off on the list what you need.
4. Other things as modem ready to work in USA, UK, Asia... power adaptor accessories, storage bag that fits the laptop.

The tablet PC is really ergonomic, less keyboard, less mouse use...closer to natural pen and paper. Dont forget to look at security cables, incase you bring it for work or home. Even a lockable carry bag with padding.

The Mac is better in terms of CPU speed, FSB, and RAM. On the other hand, it's a MAC and MAC's suck. A tablet PC's are very useful kuz you can write on the screen. You really can't beat that. Second of all, a laptop is no replacement for a desktop. A laptop with a 1.5GHz CPU can run any app you would like. Don't try any gaming on either laptop kuz it just won't work. And if it does, the screen will hurt your eyes and the keyboard will break you fingers.

Wow. These two are totally different beasts. A tablet PC is extremely difficult to compare to a regular laptop PC, but its harder to compare one to a Mac.

Ups and downs of both:
Laptops:
+ more memory, more ram, more processor, more traditional.
- everyone has one, they tend to be heavier
Tablet (PC's):
+ lighter, longer battery life, touch screen!, cool factor
- weaker in most senses
PC's
+ upgradeable, more apps
- too many different configurations, prices fluctuate
Mac's
+ solid all-in one machines, cool looking, great for entertainment
- not as many applications

Its up to you to decide the pro's and cons of both, I'd get the tablet if I were to get a new one because I intend on doing a lot of writing this semester and paper just seems so 19th century.

They are completely different systems, depends what you want to use it for.

The gateway is a pc, the most compatable system, but the place where it really benefits is gaming, cause you can game with everyone else, games are cheaper, and most of the software on the internet is geared for windows. bad, so many viruses and windows bugs that bite the dust!

Apple is a macintosh. This systems are my personal favorite, they have fewer viruses, use lower end hardware much more effectively and simply a dream for developers. bad things, the software is expensive and you will be hard pressed for gaming, cause most people use pc's

For internet and programming i would go with mac, for gaming or on a tight budget for software, pc.

One suggestion I always use, search the net for reviews of that particular computer. Read several reviews on each computer. Be aware of what each reviewer claims as a negative or positive issue. For instance on some reviews they claim "no dedicated volume control". Myself I like the function key + arrow for volume control so that item is not a negative in my book. Good luck.

Generally speaking, look to see which has more hard drive space, more RAM, higher CPU frequencies (GHz), etc. Also check which of the two comes with more features such as dvd-burners or wireless ports.

You just have to sit down and think about how you're going to use it. After that make a list of pros and cons for both machines based on that.
