Obviously you have only just bought the rake for this purpose...What a funny image.

It's not any more unsanitary than roasting it on a stick you just broke off a tree.

Hmm, not if it's been used for shoveling manure or anything...

If you bought it just for that purpose, I suppose so, but it seems like the heat of the fire wouldn't be evenly distributed to all the marshmallows over a wide rake. Middle ones might burn, outside not done enough...

Why would you, though, when you can just get a twig?

My husband uses a rake to clean dog poop in the backyard. I wouldn't use that one. But a brand new one that is metal not plastic would probably work. That really would be a funny image!

wouldn't recommend it as the paint used on a leaf rake would leech toxic chemicals into your food when exposed to heat and flame.Rakes are obviously not manufactured for food safety or painted with heat resistant paint like a bbq grill paint would be.

Of course you can. It's not that hard, and it's very efficient.
