If your asking as opposed to the kitchen faucet, it's the same water, it came in the house at the same point and simply took a different path at a certain point somewhere in the house.

It's the same water that goes to your kitchen faucet. It's just psychologically disgusting to some people. There's nothing "healthier" about kitchen water or "more unsanitary" about bathroom water. As far as public drinking fountains are concerned, I believe it is the contact with the mouth guard that probably has the most potential germs. When I drink from them I am sure to not touch that and often I let the water run a little to get rid of the water that was left sitting in the pipes from the last person. Probably a lot to do with psychology again, but I suppose we all have quirks.

No way that's the most unhealthy H2O drinking water that you want to drink. Sometimes, faucet water has lead in it and plus, it can make you very sick. I should know my son had once drunk out of the bathroom facet and gotten really sick. He had vomit and the runs pretty bad for a week. I suggest you just buy clean water from the store

I don't think so. I would never trust things that are allowed for the public. You have no idea how many people have touched and drank from the exact same water fountain as you. I would rather drink from bathroom faucets, but it's best if you just get some purified water and drink from that. I have actually drank both and I'm still healthy. Be warned that germs and things do live in the water from unknown places.

Just drink it.
People these days take so much care about what is healthy that our immune systems are forgetting how to work. Our Grandparents could drink right of the river and be okay but if you did it you would probably get giardia.
People need to stop worrying so much and just live.
You use the bathroom water to brush you're teeth dont you. Obiously you already put it in you're mouth so whats the difference if you drink it?

The water coming out of your bathroom faucet is as safe as the water in your kitchen sink. Most water facilities make water safe by treating with chemicalsuch as chlorine and even flourides to help your teeth. The main thing to remember is to let the line run for several minutes before drinking the water.

Sort of. I'm no expert but tap water has all sorts of junk in it. If the water is hard water it can increase the chance of kidney stones quite significantly.
Like a lot of things, moderation is the key. I take gulps water during showers and find tap water tastes quite good.
However, if you want to drink water a lot, I recommend filtering it with Brita or something like it. There's nothing wrong with grabbing a quick gulp from a tap though..
Public Water fountains are great also, but I recommend letting it run for a couple seconds before drinking as bugs can get in and stuff, and don't touch it with your mouth,

The source of the water is not the problem. The LOCATION of the water source is the problem.
Both of your sources are OK to drink from, but if the LOCATION of the faucet/fountain is not clean (i.e. a dirty gas station or really old-building) I wouldn't risk my health on anything but bottled water.

I do in the middle of the night. However i do use a britta. I live in Phoenix and i remember about a year ago they somehow mixed up the pipes and people were turning on their faucets and sewage was comming out. I was not effected, but seriously, how clean can it be? I keep a glass of purified water by my bed now to keep from using the bathroom sink.

Think about the source - water from your bathroom faucet is as clean as water from your kitchen faucet assuming that you are getting clean water into your house/appartment. That is not to say it is healthy. That is why it is recommended to use some type of filtration system like BRITA or PUR or boiling.
Public water fountain? It depends on their plumbing too...
