Yeah, ive never had a problem with mine, its a dell. Try using a power strip with a few extra outlets on it. Its a short extension chord, should be enough to take the stress off.

Some of the answers are nice, but my question would be how are you treating the cord, not saying you abuse it or anything, but the invironment may also play a factor you are not seeing. Living in Alaska as I do, I sometimes see this happen in the winter when cords and cables are not as flexable as in the summer, and if you pull on the cord to remove it instead of grasping it firmly and tuging it loose, you may be adding additional wear that was not designed into the cord? Just an idea.
Second thought since it has happened before, when you are holding the cord to get power, is it hot or very warm, if so them maybe the cord or power converter is malfunctioning and this could lead to early wear.

I'm not too sure about the problem being with the fact that you are using Dell power cords (but considering their latest fiasco with their batteries, you never know)... I would have to ask how you have your machine set up. Do you have it snug up against a wall or piece of furniture so the cord is bent at an angle? If so, that's probably your problem.
Cords don't just come undone by themselves (as far as I am aware). You may need to try to find a heavier duty cord. If that doesn't work, consult an exorcist....

Set it up so your cable doesn't have to make that bend in that fragile area of the cable.. ie, take a couple of ice cream sticks and tape them to the cable so it stays straight for the length of the sticks, oooor, get something that you can run the cord throught that has a gentle curve to it, so the cord isn't stressed so sharply..

Make sure that the bend isn't too severe. Try moving the PC out a little bit to release any strain on the cable.
