if anyone can give me an honest answer to this, i'd love it.

i really want to know: since when did limp wrists, lisping, and rainbows become associated with gays?

and why?

it doesn't make any obvious sense to me, though maybe i'm just ignorant or something. does anyone really know? thanks!

Everything but the rainbows is just how people ridicule them...the rainbow is a symbol they use.

The use of rainbow flags has a long tradition; they are displayed in many cultures around the world as a sign of diversity and inclusiveness, of hope and of yearning. This denotation goes back to the rainbow as a symbol of biblical promise, and the use of all the colours of the rainbow symbolises all flags in one. There are several, unrelated rainbow flags in use today. The most widely known is perhaps the flag representing gay pride.

The symbol dates back, and really it just happens to be the symbol for male because the original builder equated it with stength, just like a Volvo is. I'm not aware that homosexuals had a symbol though, what is male is male, and what is female is female. Maybe a Rainbow flag to signify their pride, but thats about it. And as anything else, styling is subjective, so what one maybe like, others dont. Just depends on the persons taste.

Even the word "Gay" wasn't associated with homosexuals 40 years ago!

the limp wrist and lisping should be pretty obvious, but the rainbow thing is strange to me, too. Hell, I had a rainbow on my car the other day....I think they're pretty....and my son was cracking up.

Hell, I don't mind if they wanna be "gay"....just don't use up all our good words and pictures, so that we can't use em anymore.

Because a majority of gay men have lisps, or effeminate gestures, and rainbows are the symbols for gay pride.

I don't think there are any true signs, there are a lot of football players who wear panty hose, and a lot strait men who wear flip flops, and thongs

i think the rainbow symbolizies every nationality in the world, meaning being homesexual is not based in one culture or ethinicity.
