Ok, if you think about this in real life it'll make much more sense. This one sack you have weighs 35 pounds. Now you want 785 sacks. It makes sense that the more sacks there are, the heavier they weigh right? This is basic multiplication. You can even use your calculator:
785 X 35 = 27475
Estimating: round 35 to 40 and 785 to 800 therefore you know you will get 3 zeroes after your result. Multiply 8 X 4 in your head which = 32. Then put the numbers together, 32,000.
Fun isn't it? =P

This is an odd question. Why to the nearest pound? A sack weighs almost 35 pounds, but that could be 34.99999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 pounds. The way you have it written, it's just 35 x 785 pounds.

Since it's estimating, try rounding both numbers first then multiply:
35 rounds to 40 and 785 rounds to 800.
40 x 800 = 32,000

multiply
785 x 35 = 27,475.
But if they are asking for an estimate I would give 27, 500
Good luck, I'm not great in math either, but can handle some!

well u sir r retarted. Just go to the calculator on your computer and do 35 X 785. Or if u estimate ots 40 X 800 which is 32,000. Or if it's for school say the estimated answer is greater than one but less than infinity!!!!

785 x 34.9 = 27396 (rounded off)
you can't use 35lbs because it is LESS than 35 pounds.
