Yes they look into it. Part of your application, acknowledges that you know they will and are permitting them to do so.
If you lie, they will find out. The best solution, look into getting your GED, then you could state on the application/resume that you are in progress of achieving your GED. That won't be a lie, and you can still be considered.

Alot of companies now days do look into your high school ,but often time not until after they have hired you. If you lie about anything on the application, this gives them grounds to fire you on the spot as soon as they find out. Don't do it. my hubby didnt graduate from high school either, but he went from a delivery driver to the store manager where he works in less than 6 months due to experiance. make sure you highlight that area for them to see percisely how long you have worked in wharehousing. Alot of times it ma surpise you to know they prefer someone who has alread done that kind of work to some one who is just starting regardless of a diploma. Either way, def look into a GED. Some states also have it were you can go back for a second test afterwords to make it a reg diploma so no one would ever know in the first place. That will open you up for lots more jobs that pay higher wages.

It would be better to leave it off and have them ask you rather then you lie about it without them even asking you. Not everyone fully details their education on their resume and some omit it altogether. In fact, they say that if you have less then a 2.5 GPA, just put the school name if you feel obligated to put something down at all. So, leaving it off would not be the deathtrap that lying about it would, and also, remember that resumes rarely are more then a page long, you provide just enough detail for the employer to formulate a sense of who you are. The same applies for previous jobs you have held. List only the jobs that are most recent and are relevant to the job you are applying for.

Lying about your education is a definite no-no. Does the new job require you to have a high school education? If you have previous warehouse experience, that will definitely be in your favour. If needed, you could work and go for your GED after hours.

Most places that Require a High School do in fact verify it. On my last job I was in the position of hiring my staff, having to meet certain Human Resources criteria. That job called for a High School Diploma, I hired someone with a Masters Degree (staff Artist job), they did not question her masters degree but they did send for verification of her High School Diploma, because that's what the job required. As the others have answered, I also encourage you to get a G.E.D. Good luck!

Verification of employment is generally usual in a historic past verify. mendacity on an application is grounds for instantaneous dismissal in maximum companies. I hate to assist you to already know this, yet there isn't any longer lots you're able to do because of the fact the cat is out of the bag. a pointy HR guy or woman will observe the discrepancy between your resume and the appliance. be waiting to come back sparkling and desire for the main suitable. exceptionally, do no longer lie on the appliance type.

Ever heard of the internet? It's so easy to check references that it happens more often now. Heck, one call to a High School takes a few minutes and you'll fail that test. You'll get busted, sooner or later, then you'll have to explain WHY you got canned to future prospective employers. Ouch!
Go for the GED. For a little effort, it's a big payoff.

A few years of experience in the field that you are applying for is already a big advantage. You don't have to lie, so don't put yourself at risk of not getting the job if they do decide to check, or losing the job if they find out you lied after they hire you.
Good luck!

bad idea to lie on a resume....someday it'll come back to bite you in the ***....instead, simply state that you went to such and such high school and leave out graduating information. if you are contacted and asked, then you can explain that even though you went there you in fact did not graduate but have gained "life experience" since and are confident that your past experience in warehousing more than qualifies you to do the job.
