She had some major anger to deal with because she couldn't communicate with anyone and no one was able to communicate with her until her teacher taught her to speak using sign language on the palm of someones hand.

Of course she did! She was a typical kid who just couldn't see or hear. Before she learned to communicate, she did what she wanted to do and was a holy terror. No one stopped her from stealing food off their plates, for instance.
