So funny you ask this. I had to sit on my hands just now not to type some exclamation points. Guess what my one and only new years resolution was this year? You guessed it: no more using exclamation points. That lasted until mid-March and I went crazy with them like I normally do. I've held out pretty well, here, though, don't you think?

No, I don't hate exclamation points. I think there are actually necessary when trying to emphasize a comment. Not being able to raise or lower your voice commenting, the exclamation is a way to do it for you when you can't talk to the person one on one.

Exclamation marks are VERY!!!! Overused!!! haha But i love to use them!!!!! They are so much fun!!! Plus i like to animate things by using them!!!!

I would rather see ! than a bunch of LOL's. Or those smiley emoticons..they drive me nuts! Exclamation points are not rude and when used right..it can be very funny.

i don't hate them, but they are over-used. muchly. haha.
but you know, i overuse the word(s) "haha" way too much. get it? haha...i mean, lol
i guess everyone just has their own way of adding emphasis. (for instance, using exclaimation points). unfortunately, many people don't realize what's important and what's just useless, so they use the all-too-common "!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" after the end (and sometimes in the middle of) every sentence.
it gets annoying i guess, but then again, i'll bet my "haha"s do too. haha. =)

Meh...it doesn't affect me really...it conveys that the person typing is really excited about something...and do I mean really. For some reason though, someone using all caps annoys me because it communicates that they are shouting at you.
