Straight people say I am a normal weight, and some girls think I am too skinny, and then when I ask gay guys, most all of them say I need to lose weight? I am very confused. Do you think gay people need to be skinnier than straight people to find happiness?

6'2" 175 - no worries. The body concious thing among gay men is a bit annoying, more than a bit actually, I'm sure I participate in it too (I'm not attracted to heavy, I actually prefer tall and skinny - not muscular skinny, but skinny). but you should have no worries, lot's of gay men prefer a beefy guy (at 175 and 6'2" you wouldn't be considered beefy, I'd consider you thin probably) but I certainly know of guys who like it.
Don't worry about it, be who you are, take care of yourself, and you'll be golden. I totally hit on a heavier guy today because I was attracted to him (we have a date Sunday).

Don't worry about that...you're at a good height/weight. Kidding a guy about his weight is very common among gay guys. I'm normal weight and if I tell a gay friend that I gained one pound..he will shriek like a girl. Ignore it.

Hi Andrew,
Hows it hanging?
I think that you are generalizing a lot. Don't worry about what other people are saying. I hope that you have someone that knows you well that cares about you. They typically are the ones to really give you a what's up on that kind of stuff. But don't forget to listen to yourself on such personal and life affecting issues.
Try changing your hair style or the type of clothes you wear, just to see if the reaction you get is more to your liking. You seem kind of tall for an EMO boy, but if you aren't already there, try that at least for Halloween, that's coming up.
I wish the best to you.

Everyone will tell you something different and to each is own but what matters is what do you think? As we all go threw life we gain some lbs but if you feel you are OK I say just be happy. I know I ask myself the same question but the answer is inside of us I think...
Update: Hell no your not fat

You are somewhat thin for your height but if you are healthy then don't worry about it. Some gay men succumb to the same body image issues that women have, and its no healthier for them than it is for women.
You need to bring something to the table, have good character and be able to communicate to find happiness. Happiness has nothing to do with your body.

I suspect this is a joke. But, whatever you are, just be content that you have full use of your limbs, brain, and can type. If you are listening to this guy or that gal, no wonder you are confused...try being a little more secure in being YOU and you will not be worried about this kind of stuff. Good luck

I hate how gay guys are so body obsessed. If you think your a good weight for yourself tell the others to piss off. Just make yourself happy, thats all you can do in this world.

no, gay people don't have to be skinnier to find happiness. of course, I don't know your weight or height to know if you're "skinny" or "fat." if you are happy, and your doctor says you're healthy, then don't worry what others think.

No, gay men can be hypercritical, especially in the weight area. Pay them no attention.
