Check with you local city government and then follow state law for having a kennel.

Please do not contribute to the pet overpopulation problem. Thousands of cats, dogs, rabbits, and other impulse pets are euthanized each year.

I work at a Petsmart and, although still a pet store, we do not sell large birds (like macaws), ferrets, chinchillas, snakes, rabbits, cats, or dogs, except from the Humane Society- and we make no profit off of them. We also don't sell feeder rodents, but that's a different issue.

you would need to check licensing in your city..

most people are coming to realize that pet stores are disgusting places where pets are exploited for profit and the people owning these stores are NOT animal lovers
many stores now REFUSE to sell kittens and puppies because they do not want to contribute to the cruel industry of kitty/puppy mills...

I suggest you do the same..

Ask your local pet stores. I've sold a few reptiles there before. Ask them if they're interested.
