I lived in Washington state for 4 years, near Sequim, whci is one lavendar capital.

Fresh it's fragrant,,,especially the French, but its sold dried for practical purposes, unless one wants it as a living plant.

When dried, if you're interested in getting any, try to get it not crushed. Each small "petal" is like a bead, and you can create the fragrance with more intensity if you crush some yourself.

Many feel it's an OLD TIME fragrance,,no offense to anyone my age,,and yet it's very powerful. Beyond its fragrance it does work well in cooking and Teas.

Fresh lavender has nice fragrant oil on them, because of that, I think the fresh one smells much stronger. I prefer English lavender over Spanish(or French), because I just love its shape and color. You can smell it from long ways away. I grow a few and each summer I pick some and dry them. One year, I made lavender cookies with it. (Yes, there is such a recipe.) It was quite exotic. I am not sure how long fresh lavender lasts, since I usually dries them right after I pick. You can google the word, and you'll find tons of info online.

sparkling is definitely extra good than dried. they are the two aromatic. My florist used sparkling in my bouquet- certainly a number of the flowers in my bouquet, the toss bouquet, and the corsages have been the style that would dry properly on their own, like lavender- so any of the marriage party who had to maintain their flowers might nonetheless have a enormously dried bouquet afterwards. a solid florist might desire to be waiting to get it for you, although sparkling is easiest to get in overdue spring/summer.

Many dried herbs will tend to be more potent than fresh herbs. Not sure how long fresh lavender lasts. Try Ebay to find lavender online.
