why do people put locks on screen doors?

I do it because I have stupid neighbors who knock & open my damn door at the same time. They don't wait until I answer & give them permission to come in. It irritates the hell out of me.
I walk around in the nude. I don't want to look up & see a MF
in my houes w/o my okay.
I know a lock on a screen door doesn't keep criminals out,but I
don't worry about them. I'm not afraid of them.
I just don't want family & friends & neighbors opening my door.

So you can have the big door open, get fresh air coming in from the screen door, and still not let your toddler wander out of the house!

hahaha good question. i would have to say because people think that it would be that much more security.
