This becoming a serious problem. I'm sick of how people gourge themselves without a care. Health care is going through the roof and its getting kind of hard to walk around. This could turn into a slippery slope. Should Congress do something?

What cannot be solved by education cannot be solved by legislation. The SAT scores are down to 35 year low. People are getting dumbed down by this government. Little wonder they stuff their mouth with fat burgers and keep watching Fox news 24 hours.
Even 10 year old kids are fat. That is not something that can be controlled by law.

Make FUGLY (fat ugly) a taboo. Mock at fat people. Ridicule them. Make them socially unacceptable. That will send the message that they must take personal responsibility on how they look.

One small step for health care, one giant leap towards fascism.

Just how much government control over personal lives do you want? It's not enough that wherever we go, whatever we buy, anything we read, and all the food we consume is already regulated. You now want the govt to control how much we eat, and what kind of food?

It's not slippery slope. It's a huge leap right over the fascism cliff.

Sorry, I know Obesity is a problem in our society ---but I find that drug use affects many more people and should be tackled first!!! At least fat people are only hurting themselves --drug abusers hurt kids, family members, and society when they steal to have money to get their next hit. So, until somebody really gets serious about drug abuse ----then obesity will have to take a back seat in my opinion!!!

I think that the price of fruits and vegetales and other healty foods weren't so expensive. If it wasn't, I do believe people would make a better effort to eat healthy. I also think employers should make if mandatory for 15-30 min. exercise a day.

No. Because it would force poor people to eat healthier. And we all know that poor people are untouchable in politics.
